Podcast interviews – don’t miss out

Our founder Rachel Eden writes:

I have been podcasting each week of 2021 with my new podcast “Accounting for the Real” world. Initially I set it up to help my accountancy and management students at Royal Holloway University connect their studies to the reality of running a business or a charity. However I’ve quickly found that other people are enjoying the podcast interviews too.

Podcast Interviews

Most of the episodes are podcast interviews – and I’m talking to people from a range of backgrounds. Not all of it by any means is talking about numbers or finance. In fact most of it is about business and organisations in the widest sense. I’ve heard from Caroline Gratrix of Viva Photography about the way she grew her business after finding her niche; from Hari Sewell about what organisations can do about unconscious bias in response to Black Lives Matter; and from Gurprit Singh about how implementing cloud software in a multinational isn’t actually that different from persuading organisations to become more ethical.

The most recent episode is a podcast interview with Lorraine Briffitt of Connect Reading about the importance of connecting. This is something that is an intangible but still absolutely vital. We also discuss how much you can benefit from looking across sectors – which is of course one of the reasons we have a charity of the year
