New role: Bookkeeper

We are now recruiting for a part time bookkeeper. At the end of the academic year our wonderful student accountant Sam will be moving on to pastures new and due to continued growth in the clients we serve we are expanding our team to include an additional bookkeeper. Reports to                                        Sabina Reed, Team Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic training and professional services company as a key member of our team.  The post-holder will take particular responsibility for bookkeeping work for our range of clients as well as supporting our in-house administration.

Tasks include:

Bookkeeping plus support for clients:

  • Work commensurate with experience and expertise for our clients
  • Bookkeeping support including invoicing, accounts reconciliation, payroll, posting journals
  • VATreturns and payroll (full training for this will be given if needed)
  • Client care, analysing client feedback and follow up

In-house administration may include:

  • Supporting events
  • Creating social media and blog content
  • Carrying out research as required
  • Ordering supplies
  • Updating records

Experience:  The ideal candidate will be an experienced bookkeeper with a solid understanding of accounting principles and requirements.  Experience of using the Xero accounting package would be advantageous but is not essential as training will be given. 

Personal Characteristics: A reliable and enthusiastic individual with a high degree of accuracy.  The successful candidate will be numerate and happy to show initiative and can work with minimal supervision.  They will be flexible and excited about getting involved in the different aspects of being part of a small and growing business.
