As we have not been able see our clients and network face to face for a while we thought we’d would help you get to know us a bit more with our occasional ‘meet the team’ series. Here Kate, one of our qualified bookkeepers shares a little about herself.
1. What do you do?
I have been working in finance and accounting for over 15 years and I have hands on knowledge of various accounting software – Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, SAP and some other less known ones. At Holy Brook I work as a part of the team and provide support to a number of small businesses.
2. Why are you a member of the Holy Brook team?
I joined Holy Brook in August 2019 and I truly believe it is a business with heart which makes our community better. It creates a unique atmosphere for its employees providing the best conditions for professional growth while enjoying a good work-life balance.
I share Holy Brook values and approaches to managing clients and I enjoy being a part of this lovely team.
3. What do you like most about working/living in and around Reading?
Reading is a vibrant town with a lot of things going on both in cultural and business respect. I also love its proximity to London and to Heathrow airport.
4. Who or what would be your ideal client or project?
A start-up ambitious business with a view to grow and contribute to community as well as make profit. A business which wants to make things right and the most efficient way from the very start.
As a certified Xero advisor, I have helped clients switching to Xero and setting up efficient finance procedures. These were challenging projects with rewarding outcomes of seeing the clients benefiting from the changes.
5. What are your favourite things to do outside working with Holy Brook?
I am a keen knitter and knitwear designer currently investigating opportunities of promoting my work. I also tried many other crafts – felting, embroidery, jewellery making, upcycling vintage clothes and furniture. I enjoy oil and acrylic painting and drawing.
